Mark supports initiatives that will bring national and international events to Regina.

Community Initiatives
Wascana Skateboard Plaza
While on the Parks and Rec Board, Mark assisted the city with choosing a location best for both the boarders and the plaza neighbours and ensure no friction between groups.
Details Matter!
As Parks and Rec chair, Mark took action on numerous parent complaints of kid’s clothes constantly falling off impractical puck hooks at the Wickenheiser and had proper hooks added.
Past National and International Wascana Lake Events
Mark helped host the 2015 NWIRA Championship, 2016 Canadian Masters Rowing Championship, and 2019 Canadian National Dragon Boat championship.
Future Major National International Wascana Lake Events
Mark is now part of the team working towards hosting the 2026 ICF Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships and another Canadian National Dragon Boat Championship.
Accessibility
Mark Burton has invested a lot of time supporting Ward 4 and the entire City of Regina. Volunteering with many organizations over the years he has spent countless hours helping the city improve their recreation facilities and helping volunteer organizations with their main events. His energy and organizational skills have then resulted in him joining boards to help improve organizations.
With a passion for civic engagement and a commitment to improving the lives of residents, Mark has been actively involved in various community projects and initiatives. His leadership and vision have brought positive changes, making Ward 4 a better place to live for everyone. From organizing local events to advocating for better public services, Mark’s efforts are driven by a deep sense of responsibility and love for his community.
